MUMBAI: Zee News, the Hindi news channel is airing a new series named Kaal Kapaal Mahakaal. The show brings an in-depth account of the life and practices of various sects like Aghoris, Naath, Shakyas etc who practice peculiar customs and the stories around them, says a company release.
The series will begin 6 November 2004 at 11 pm every Saturday. While the repeat will follow the next day at 11 pm only on Zee News.
ZEE Telefilms director news group L N Goel said "Zee News has taken up this mystique subject in order to give the viewers an insight into the parallel worlds which exist amidst our so called normal life. "
As the name suggests Kaal stands for death, Kapaal stands for Skull and Mahakaal stands for Lord Shiva's avatar, representing end of life. The nomenclature captures the imagery and associations around the mystiques and catches the popular imagination signifying the scope and contents in the program, adds the comapny release.
