The Bombay Stock Exchange in conjunction with broadcasting major Zee Telefilms will start a TV series aimed at educating the investor as to which basket he should put his eggs in.
According to a BSE spokesperson, the series will cover the basics of investing as well as investment options like derivatives and debt instruments. Sessions will examine case studies as well as dramatisations of the process involved in buying shares and how to judge when to get off the boat. Experts will be roped in for debates and discussions. The series comprising 26 episodes will be start on Zed TV in January.
The spokesperson said that BSE is still to formulate details like the show anchor and is still scouting for sponsors. This is the first time the companies have come up with an alliance like this and given the government's decision to tax small savings in banks as well as postal savings, the timing couldn't be better.
