MUMBAI: A+E Networks|TV18, which owns factual entertainment channel HistoryTV18, has elevated Devika Dayal as national revenue head with immediate effect. Hitherto, she held the post of senior vice president.

Dayal has over a decade of experience in ad sales with stints at Zee, Discovery Communications prior to joining Network18 Group in 2005.

The move is a part of the leadership re-alignment now underway at Network18 News Media, the client facing ad sales unit which manages the advertising interests of the news and factual entertainment channels at Network18 Group. Network18 News Media spearheads the group‘s effort towards consolidating and optimizing revenue growth across its six news and factual entertainment channels (CNBC-TV18, CNBC Awaaz, CNN-IBN, IBN7,IBN-Lokmat & History TV18).

Ad sales for the ETV regional news network, subject to regulatory approvals for the acquisition, will also form part of this stable. While acting as a centralized sales agency, Network18 News Media also reflects the group‘s focus on individual brands via dedicated teams and revenue leaders aligned to each channel. Earlier, CNN-IBN, CNBC-TV18 and CNBC Awaaz have announced new National Revenue Heads as well.

A+E Networks|TV18 president Ajay Chacko said, "Devika has been instrumental in ensuring advertising traction for HistoryTV18 commensurate with its strong brand and viewership performance since launch. As we build HistoryTV18 further and plan other forays at A+E Networks|TV18, her perspective will be essential to our success in monetizing our brands."

Dayal said, "It‘s been an exciting year for HistoryTV18 and me. We‘ve made significant efforts in establishing the brand in the market and now the task is to further capitalize on this growth momentum. I look forward to working with the team in ensuring we innovate and grow further from here."

Network18 News Media CEO Sanjay Dua said, "We believe that our brands are well-placed to build further on their leadership, both in terms of innovative client solutions as well as a strong network proposition. Each of our leaders comes with a proven track record and we believe that Devika‘s expertise will be crucial as we move forward on our growth plans"

A+E Networks|TV18, a joint venture between TV18 Broadcast and A+E Networks LLC, recently forayed into the factual entertainment space in India with the launch of HistoryTV18 last year. History TV18 is the first in a bouquet of channels to be launched by the joint venture in India.
