MUMBAI: The 16 May finale episode of CBS Network's Everybody Loves Raymond, one of TV's most beloved sitcoms, attracted 33 million viewers. This is the largest audience share the nine-year old show ever garnered.
The finale episode was CBS' most watched entertainment broadcast this season and its most-watched sitcom episode since the season premiere of Murphy Brown.
The final episode also won the honour of the fifth-most watched program of the season -- behind the Super Bowl, the AFC championship football game, the Academy Awards and the Tuesday premiere of "American Idol".
The show did well in key demographics, including households (20.2/29), 25 to 54 (13.3/28), 18 to 49 (11.2/26) and 18 to 34 (8.1/21). The Last Laugh, a one-hour retrospective before the finale, also won its time period in households (15.3/24), viewers (24.52 million), 18 to 34 (5.2/16), 18 to 49 (7.5/21) and 25 to 54 (9.3/24).
