MUMBAI: Star Gold, the Hindi movie channel from Star India, is geared up for the world TV premiere of Vidhu Vinod Chopra?s Ferrari Ki Sawaari on 15 September during the prime time 9 pm slot.

As has been the case with big networks, the movie is being premiered on a movie channel rather than the past practice of doing it on the network?s general entertainment channel.

Star India, which runs Hindi movie channels Star Gold and Movies OK, had acquired the satellite rights for Ferrari Ki Sawaari for a period of 10 years. The broadcaster is believed to have paid between Rs 80-100 million for the rights.

According to Star Gold and Movies OK general manager Hemal Jhaveri, the movie is in line with the channel philosophy of Karo Dil Ki.

"With the World TV Premiere of Ferrari ki Sawaari, we want to inspire our audiences to Karo Dil Ki. This underlines our commitment to bring the latest and best of Bollywood and not to mention the most diverse content to our viewers," says Jhaveri.

The Sharman Joshi-starrer movie has collected Rs 390 million at the box office worldwide, according to Eros International, which has the worldwide distribution rights for the film.

Written by Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Rajesh Mapuskar, who is also the director of the film, Ferrari Ki Sawaari stars Sharman Joshi, Boman Irani and Ritwik Sahore with a song appearance by Vidya Balan.
