Vh1 brings down Finnish group Poets of the Fall to India
MUMBAI: Encouraged by the response received for its concert that featured Anoushka Shankar, Vh1 India?s initiative Vh1 Handpicked has returned.
This time around the English Entertainment channel is playing host to Finnish rockers ?Poets of the Fall?.
The international band will perform live across the three cities of Bangalore, New Delhi and Pune on 22, 24 and 25 August, as part of Vh1 Handpicked Poets of the Fall.
Viacom 18 Media senior VP, GM English entertainment Ferzad Palia said, ?With a perfect partner in Nokia Lumia, Vh1 is delighted to play host to Finnish rockers Poets of the Fall? and with the kind of fan following they have, we?re certain that the audience won?t get enough!?
Lead vocalist of the band Marko Saaresto said, ?We?ve been to India before and were amazed to see the passion and love for music that the country presents. Our new album was launched in Finland earlier this year and was loved by music lovers and we?re confident that we will receive a similar response from India too. Eagerly looking forward to our India tour!"
The band started out their musical adventure in 2003 which included singer Marko, guitarist Olli and keyboardist Captain. The first debut album of Poets of the Fall - Signs of Life was No. 1 on the Finnish album chart in January 2005.
