MUMBAI: Zoom is going to air a reality talent-hunt series based on hairstyling titled ?A Cut Above? in February.

TRESemm?, makers of a wide range of hair care products, has come on board as the presenting sponsor of the show.

The series aims to give budding stylists a chance to prove that they are a cut above the rest in the world of hairstyling.

Celebrity hairstylists Aalim Hakim, Rod Anker and Natasha Naegamvala will lead the hunt for the ?most talented? young fingers across the country, mentoring and judging the shortlisted contestants to finally select a winner who is a cut above.

HUL GM Srinandan Sundaram said, ?TRESemm? believes in the intrinsic consumer aspiration to have salon like hair every day. TRESemm? is dedicated towards addressing this consumer need and brings professional salon like transformation for women at home, everyday. In keeping with this simple truth, we are proud to be associated with this show, a unique platform for budding hairstylists, which encourages savvy style seeking women to look and feel fabulous.?

Their journey and struggle as depicted on the show will at once be interesting and inspiring for Zoom?s young audience.?

Contestants for the show stand a chance to get shortlisted for the show on the basis of their technical skills, knowledge and creativity.

?A Cut Above? will be supported by a marketing approach through print, online, on-air and will further reach out to its target audience by promotions across various salons.

To create buzz at the local level in the key cities, Zoom has tied up with Radio City as radio partner. To engage the ?stylish? and ?upbeat? TG, Zoom has partnered with ELLE as the magazine partner and Zovi as the online partner. The channel has also got on board brands like Lux Body Wash, Pepe Jeans London, Vega Beauty Accessories, Aircel and Javed Habib.

The winner will get a chance to be the official hair stylist for a TRESemme fashion event.
