Comedy Central launches seven shows this month
MUMBAI: Comedy Central will launch seven shows this month. Starting 4 June, shows that will make way to Indian audiences are ?Hot in Cleveland?, ?3rd Rock from the Sun?, ?Archer?, ?Happily Divorced?, ?The IT Crowd?, ?Key & Peele? and ?Doogie Howser?.
Viacom18 Media senior VP, GM English entertainment Ferzad Palia said, ?At Comedy Central, our endeavour is to treat viewers with some of the best comedy shows available across the globe. Come June and the channel will rock further with big names like ?Doogie Howser?, ?Hot in Cleveland?, ?3rd Rock from the Sun? and many more. We?re confident that the impressive programming line-up will keep the laughter quotient high and encourage category growth too."
Archer will launch on 4 June and will air Monday-Wednesday at 11.30 pm. It is set in ISIS, an international spy agency. The global crisis offers opportunities for its highly trained employees to confuse, undermine and betray. At the center of it all is suave master spy Sterling Archer, who?s less-than-masculine code name is "Duchess."
?Hot in Cleveland? is a series based on three 40-something best friends from Los Angeles who are flying to Paris when their plane makes an emergency landing in Cleveland. Realising that all the norms from Los Angeles don?t apply anymore, they decide to celebrate a city that values real women and stay where they?re still considered hot.
?3rd Rock from the Sun? is an old show about a group of aliens who have come to Earth to learn about its population, customs, etc. To avoid detection, they have taken on human form which gives them human emotions.
?Doogie Howser? is about a teenaged genius dealing with the usual problems of growing up: having a girlfriend, going to parties, hanging out with his best friend, all this on top of being a licensed physician in a difficult residency program.
The second season of ?Happily Divorced? kicks off on 4 June at 8:30 pm. The excitement of the middle aged couple continues. They try to move on with their lives after the husband confesses he?s gay while continuing to live under one roof.
