MUMBAI: Zee Network has scheduled Zee Cine Awards 2006 on 4 March at the Swami Vivekananda International Convention in Mauritius. LIC has been roped in as the main sponsor, while Pepsi and Motorola are the co-presenters.

The LIC Zee Cine Awards 2006 will be hosted by Karan Johar, Arjun Rampal, Mallika Sherawat, Konkana Sen Sharma and Gulshan Grover. Zee TV will telecast the event from 7 pm onwards on 4 March. Zee's Hindi movie channel Zee Cinema will re-telecast the event the next day at 8 pm.

Says Zee Telefilms director Punit Goenka, "Our focus to take Zee Cine Awards to the international platform is to showcase the best of Indian Cinema to the world. With Zee Cine Awards we will be able to provide the impetus for the crossover of Indian Cinema to global audiences and delight the Indian diaspora with the grandest celebration of Indian cinema".

The 9th edition of the awards will witness performances by Bollywood celebrities including Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Saif Ali Khan, Abhisekh Bachchan, John Abraham, Ritiesh Deshmukh, Preity Zinta, Rani Mukherji, Priyanka Chopra, Dia Mirza, Malaika Arora and Amrita Arora.
