MUMBAI: It is now time for the rough and tumble of Indian elections to take a backseat. The ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 is here. Public broadcaster Prasar Bharati-run DD Sports will introduce dual streams for the first time during the tournament, CEO Shashi Shekhar Vempati said.
The first stream will telecast the matches live which will be available only on DD Free Dish and DD’s terrestrial network and the second stream will carry a live studio-based program for the entire duration of all matches.
According to information shared by Vempati, the second stream will be available on all private DTH and private cable MSO platforms apart from YouTube.
“With this dual stream an instruction will be issued to all private DTH and cable MSO platforms to not blank out @ddsportschannel on days when live matches are telecast under the mandatory sharing of sports signals act,” Vempati commented.
The Cricket World Cup will kickstart on 30 May in England and will end on 14 July.
A total of 10 countries will participate to win the most coveted trophy of the sporting world. The Indian team is going to England for the ICC CWC 2019 under Virat Kohli’s leadership.
