MUMBAI: Star Sports, the official global broadcaster of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 has announced the biggest ever panel for the opening day of the tournament. A star-studded list of over 30 experts including some of the greats of the game – Sunil Gavaskar, Ian Bishop, Brian Lara, Wasim Akram amongst others. The opening day will be the biggest ever as the panel of Philips Hue Cricket Live will have representatives from all 11 editions of the World Cup, since the 1975 edition.
In addition to the above panel, the women of Star Sports are ready to lead coverage of cricket’s most exciting summer yet. Presenting the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 on the Star Sports network will be Isa Guha - former England world cup winner, Seema Jaswal - Global presenter on Football; Mayanti Langer – prominent face of sports broadcast who has hosted marquee events across sports including, FIFA World Cup 2010, ICC CWC 2011 and 2015; Sanjana Ganesan – homegrown talent who has covered the VIVO IPL in the past along with other notable international tournaments. Taking a bold step forward of having women like Former Miss India World Priyadarshini Chatterjee; popular Tamil anchor and singer Bhavana Balakrishnan; and Telugu anchor and emcee Vindhya Medapati, the network is setting an example for having more women in Sports broadcasting come forward.
Philips Hue Cricket Live will begin today, at 13:30, across the Star Sports network with the highly anticipated clashes between two favourites to lift the trophy - England and South Africa, which will set the tone for the tournament. Broadcast across the Star Sports Network, Philips Hue Cricket Live will feature cricketing legends from India, Australia, England, South Africa, New Zealand, West Indies, Pakistan and Sri Lanka among others.
