MediaCorp's 'Chinese drama' deal in Southeast Asia

MUMBAI: MediaCorp Studios, the production arm of MediaCorp, has sold a range of Chinese-language drama into Cambodia, Thailand and Vietnam.
MediaCorp Studios will supply more than 600 hours of programming to Cambodia this year, an increase of 28 percent of the distribution output hours from the previous year. It also sealed a contract with an unnamed Thailand TV network to increase distribution volume from 250 hours to 350 hours of Chinese drama upon renewal next year. In addition, Vietnamese TV networks acquired over 350 hours of Chinese drama.
MediaCorp Studios business division senior controller Doreen Neo said, "We are elated with the success we are creating in Indo-China. We have established strong partnerships with TV networks in this region and our programs are fast gaining a foothold in their time-belt. This is a true testament to the quality of our content as they enjoy wide acceptance by audiences in these markets."
As the largest TV content provider in Southeast Asia, MediaCorp Studios also provides facilities and services for productions, artiste management and promotions, in addition to marketing and the distribution of productions in the regional and international markets.
