MUMBAI: The Aroon Purie-promoted TV Today Network today reported a profit of Rs 23.7 million for the second quarter ended 30 September as against a net loss of Rs 11.2 million in the corresponding period last year.
The company in a statement issued today said total income of the company for the period went up by 16.6 per cent to Rs 340.7 million against Rs 292.2 million in the second quarter last fiscal.
Total income is up 16.6 per cent at Rs 340.7 million as against Rs 292.2 million in the same period last year.
The earning per share (EPS) for the quarter was Rs 0.41 and for the first half year at Rs 1.41 as against Rs 0.87 in the corresponding H1.
TV Today CEO G Krishnan in the statement said, "In spite of a highly competitive market, we are on the growth track. We will continue to deliver value to our investors and advertisers by expanding the news base."
At present, TV Today broadcasts three news channels, including Aaj Tak that has a dominant share in the Hindi news segment. Apart from this, it broadcasts English news channel Headlines Today and the recently launched Tez.
The scrip opened at Rs 82.50 and closed at Rs 74.60.
