A new channel ID. A handful of new shows. Sony Entertainment Television has been moving slowly but surely in an effort to stand equal to its rivals in the Hindi entertainment firmament, namely Star, and Zee, as it completes its sixth year of existence. Come 8 pm on 10 November, the channel is also bringing Hindi film heart throb Hrithik Roshan to its viewers when it airs the Vidhu Vinod Chopra-directed mega movie Mission Kashmir, as part of its anniversary celebrations.
The film had caused a furore in its time because it launched after the Kargill conflict and the performances of Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Priety Zinta - the other stars of the movie- had been well-appreciated by audiences. The movie, while not figuring amongst the mega box office winners, had decent pickings.
Dutt and Shroff, play mesmerising roles whil e Roshan plays a traumatized orphan who desperate for revenge against his family's killers runs away from home, only to return several years later as a ruthless fighting machine intent on destroying his step father - Sanjay Dutt.
Mission Kashmir also features hummable songs like Bhumbro and Chupke Se Sun.
