DUBAI: Pehla Academy, recently launched by Gulf-based entertainment TV platform Pehla, has announced its support to Aid the Weaker Trust, an organization working towards betterment of destitute women and children.
Pehla Academy was launched earlier this year to assist underprivileged women and children in the SAARC region. Pehla, the Asian entertainment television platform belongs to Arab Digital Distribution (ADD) - a pay TV platform management company in the Middle East, North Africa and Europe.
ADD's other platforms include Arabic entertainment TV Al Awael, international platform FirstNet, and Asian bouquet Arabsque in Europe and Pehla Europe.
Karnataka-based Aid the Weaker Trust is working on multiple projects on children and women. The organisation has set up day care centers for children in tribal settlement, destitute women living in rural areas, health care and community vocational training.
ADD's executive vice-president of network development and marketing Vinod D'Mello is quoted in a release, as saying, "We are delighted to support projects like Aid the Weaker Trust and hope to make a difference in lives of under privileged children and women."
