Pandit Hari Prasad Chaurasia appears 'Face To face' on BBC World

Pandit Hari Prasad Chaurasia

BBC World has announced that its show Face To Face hosted by Karan Thapar will feature classical musician Pandit Hari Prasad Chaurasia. The show airs on Wednesday at 10pm with a repeat on Sunday at 1pm

He talks about the choice he had to make between the diverse fields of music and wrestling. His initial passion for music was sparked by his mother singing lullabies to him. An official release informs that by the age of fifteen he started performing in All India Radio.

He says that in order to adopt music as a religion one needs to surrender oneself to a Guru. He has a special relationship with the bamboo flute and his mentor was Annapurna Devi. He also reveals that religion is very much part of his life through Lord Krishna. His future plans include starting an ashram which he will call Hari's Bridavan. He says that it will be like a Gurukul.
