The Boot Camp will serve as a full run-through of the television development and production process, providing attendees with a unique view into industry trends through a series of workshops, demonstrations and networking events.
The event also will allow attendees to formally pitch their program ideas to development executives from major talent agencies, networks, as well as production and distribution companies. The announcement was made on 17 May by Rick Feldman,NATPE president and CEO, says a press release.
The Boot Camp will offer a series of opportunities designed to educate participants about the latest trends in the development and production of television programming.
On Thursday, workshops and panels will feature industry executives discussing topical matters involving the current and future state of the television arena, including network, cable and syndication.
These include pitch development and delivery, tailoring a pitch to specific networks and distributors, building a support team, creative financing strategies, incorporating new presentation technologies and balancing creativity with matters of taste.
On Friday, four-hours will be dedicated to the Pitch Pit, one-on-one meetings between attendees and development executives from leading agencies, broadcasters, networks and distributors.
The event will be held at the Wyndham Bel Age Hotel in West Hollywood, was inspired by the strong response NATPE received from attendees at its annual conference and exhibition that has showcased Producers Boot Camp sessions for the past two years. Sponsors onboard so far include Lord, Bissel and Brook and West Hollywood Chamber of Commerce.
Regarding the announcement, Feldman commented, Producers Boot Camp workshops have been an ongoing success for NATPE. Our membership has found them to be extremely educational and informative.
