MTV, Balaji launching youth serial

Balaji

MUMBAI: As programming initiatives go, this one is certainly up there. Music channel MTV and soap factory Balaji Telefilms announced that they would soon be launching a music-led, youth based Hindi serial that will air exclusively on MTV India.

The still to be named show will be a 13 week, 39 episode production. Ekta Kapoor, Creative Director, Balaji Telefilms, will, for the first time, appear on the MTV camera to promote the serial.

A nationwide star hunt to uncover some new faces to star in the series will kick off soon, a company release says. MTV, along with Balaji, will run auditions across five cities Mumbai, Delhi, Lucknow, Pune and Chandigarh. The process of auditioning and selections will also feature on MTV. Once chosen, the cast will go through a rigorous training process in acting, dancing, action, voice projection and camera moves.
