MUMBAI: Chenna-based GV Films Ltd has inducted Bollywood star Manisha Koirala into the board as a director, saying she will play a wider role in the company including movie and television productions.
Koirala joins the board at a time when GV Films is attempting to revamp its businesses which had taken a hit over the years. The company recently signed up with Jaya TV for making two 3D live action shows for the Tamil general entertainment channel. GV Films has also made a foray into the Hindi film industry.
Says GV Films chairman Mahadevan Ganesh, We are pleased to have Koirala on the board. We expect her association will enhance exponentially the media vision of G V films and give it a multiplier presence in the Bollywood film industry. She will be involved in various aspects of the company besides acting such as film and TV productions.
Adds Koirala: I look forward to contributing and sharing my experience of last 20 years in the movie industry. I am looking forward to explore new areas of growth and I feel it is a privilege to join GV films. It is offering a wider umbrella by opening up in multiple areas of entertainment such as Hindi films, TV content and foray into multiplexes."
