MUMBAI: Leonard Goldstein will take over as executive VP, development, Warner Bros. Television.
Goldstein replaces Steve Pearlman, who moves on as producer for WBTV from 1 June 2004. Currently Goldstein is the senior VP, comedy development
Goldstein joined Warner Bros. Television in 1997 and was instrumental in the development of hit dramas Smallville, Everwood and Without a Trace. In India Smallville airs on Star World.
Goldstein will report to Warner Bros. television president Peter Roth. Roth was quoted in a company release saying, "Len is one of the most outstanding creative executives I have ever worked with. His contributions in both comedy and drama development over the past seven years have been vital to the success of our division. His ability to find and nurture creative talent, combined with his stellar industry relationships, make him the clear choice for this position."
In 2002, Goldstein was named senior VP comedy development. He had supervised the development of numerous breakout series for the studio, including Two and a Half Men, I'm with Her, Eve and All of Us.
