MUMBAI: Star News has claimed that its shows including Khabar Din Bhar, Poll Khol and Sansani has brought the channel impressive ratings and thus helping it to grab significant market share in Mumbai as well as in the Hindi speaking market.
Quoting Tam ratings, Star News states that for the week 34 (for the period 14 August to 20 August), the channel enjoyed a 24.1 per cent share amongst the C&S 15+ in the Hindi speaking market (HSM).
While, the Sabse-Tez channel Aaj Tak ranked at the same position with a market share of 24.1 per cent in the same market. NDTV India and Zee News lagged behind, holding a share of 17.6 per cent and 18.3 per cent share each.
In Mumbai, Star News continues the string of ratings, recording 29.1 per cent, followed by Aaj Tak 24.3 per cent. While NDTV India and Zee News stood at 17.6 per cent and 18.3 per cent respectively, states a media release.
Quoting Tam data, Star News has claimed to have earned viewers' eyeballs. The channel merited 36 minutes per viewer as against Aaj Tak’s 30 minutes. While for Zee News, the figures was 27 minutes and NDTV India earned 24 minutes.
On the other hand, the channel’s programmes such as the half an hour bulletin Khabar Din Bhar ranked as the number one show. While the popular weekly political satire on the state of affairs Poll Khol and the crime show Sansani are also rated amongst the top five programmes. The release adds, that this clearly endorses the channels' programming, which is balance between offering the best in news reportage and inclusive programming.
