MUMBAI: CNN's flagship regional business programme Biz Asia will introduce two new weekly segments, The Business of Film and Challenging CEOs from 20 September and 2 October respectively.
To air every Friday, the first show takes a close look at the Asian film industry. Spotlighting an industry that has proved recession-proof, the new segment will look at how Asia has produced box office hits that have dominated over Hollywoods homegrown productions. With traditional leaders like Hong Kong and Indias Bollywood continuing to grow and productions from Australia, South Korea, Japan and Thailand flourishing, the Asia Pacific has given traditional filmmakers a run for their money. The Business Of Film will examine why these productions are proving to be a winning formula.
In addition, Biz Asia will look at what it takes to be a CEO and a leader in the new weekly segment, Challeging CEOs. Each weeks interview will focus on the personalities behind the CEOs, discussing how they manage their time and how they achieved their positions of power. Sponsored by Singtel, this new segment will give viewers both a professional and personal background on leading CEOs from across Asia and the world.
Biz Asia is anchored live from CNNs Asian news centre in Hong Kong by Andrew Stevens (airing every weeknight at 5 pm and 6:30 pm IST). The half-hour programme provides extensive coverage of up-to-date economic, corporate and political news affecting business in the region and around the world.
