Christian channel re-launched in Chennai

TBN

MUMBAI: Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN), a Christian channel which had gone off-air last year, was re-launched by the Tamil Nadu Law and Information Technology Minister, D Jayakumar, in Chennai yesterday.

A channel that claims to cater to all ages, its stated focus is on issues like health and nutrition, relationships, family values, marriage, and principles.

The channel web site claims that the channel, which was launched in 1973, has grown to be one of the world's largest Christian television networks today. It is telecast to 60 countries from Manila, Philippines.

A Press Trust of India report quoted TBN co-ordinator in India, Rev Dr M Prakash, as saying the 24- hour English channel would soon be telecast in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi for two hours daily to cater to regional audiences.
