BroadcastAsia2006 has new venue for both visitors and exhibitors

MUMBAI: - BroadcastAsia2006, the multimedia and entertainment technology trade show in Asia, organised by Singapore Exhibition Services (SES), will be moving its show from halls 1 and 2 of the Singapore Expo to halls 7 and 8 in 2006.

"We are very excited about moving to the new halls," says Singapore Exhibition Services Pte Ltd (SES), project director, Jackson Yeoh.

He adds, "In previous years, visitors had to walk 600 metres from the train station to get to the exhibition. The new venue offers increased benefits for both visitors and exhibitors, as it is closer to the MRT line, taxi stand, F&B outlets and car parks, thus making it more accessible to all."

"Apart from practical benefits, the move will create a distinct identity and branding for BroadcastAsia2006, yet still drawing on its synergy and cooperation with its information technology exhibition counterparts - CommunicAsia2006 and EnterpriseIT2006. Despite being separated by a small road, the new venue is still close enough that people can walk over from one show to the other, " Yeoh added.

The BroadcastAsia2006 International Conference, held as part of the event, will also be delivered in the new extension. This year's show will also feature key emerging technologies, such as Internet protocol television (IPTV), broadcasting to handhelds, video on demand, personal video recording, digital audio broadcasting (DAB), tapeless technology, computer graphics and animation, and high-definition (HD) technology.

To date, top names in the industry that have signed up include Tandberg Television, Harris Corporation, Scopus Network Technologies, DVB - Digital Video Broadcasting, Barco, Quantel, Qualcomm and Conax.

Next year's show includes the BroadcastAsia2006 International Conference and incorporates ComGraphics&Animation 2006, Professional Audio Technology2006 and CableSat2006 shows.
