MUMBAI: The fourth International Kingfisher Bollywood Fashion Awards 2004 is taking place tonight at Xanadu, Trump Taj Mahal and Casino, Atlantic City, USA. The announcement was made on 29 April.
Top International designers, ravishing models and the hottest celebrities are gathering in the award ceremony to honour the colliding worlds of fashion and entertainment. This is the fourth event of such an International stature honouring the outstanding achievements of Indian fashion designers for the year 2003, confirms a press release.
Aashna Patel and Padmalakshmi are going to be the host for the night. The organisers have roped in performers like Reggie Benjamin, ARROW - Alphonsus Cassell and America's sexiest belly twins Veena Neena for the show.
In addition to the awards, the ceremony will also see models like Aditi Govitrikar, Mehek Chanchal, Tania Soni, Anjali Lavania, Nikita Anand, Ritu Kamal, Ujjawala Raut, Aryan Vaid, Shahwar Ali, Tejaswani Kolhapure, Amit Gaur and Zulfi Sayed amongst others, on ramp with the collections of leading designers Manish Malhotra, JJ Valaya and Alia Khan.
Commenting on the awards, The UB Group chairman Vijay Mallya said, "The Kingfisher Bollywood Fashion Award is yet another step in the direction of keeping its commitment and promoting fashion not just in India but Internationally. These awards provide a platform for Indian designers and Indian fashion to be showcased Internationally."

Kingfisher as a brand has been closely associated with the world of fashion. It went international by sponsoring International Fashion Shows of some of the known names of the Indian fashion industry such as Ritu Beri, Rohit Bal and Tarun Tahiliani. Now Kingfisher steps into the world of Bollywood by holding the Kingfisher Bollywood Fashion Awards.
The aim of the event is to stimulate creativity amongst the world's most talented fashion designers and to bring awareness to India's most remarkable fashion industry.
Awards will be given for the best collections as well as to Indian celebrities who display outstanding sense of individual style.
Some of the celebrities attending the show include Sanjay Dutt, Bipasha Basu, Dino Morea, Kareena Kapoor, Urmila Matondkar, Hema Malini, Tanisha, Jimmy Shergill, Rajesh Khanna, Shankar Mahadevan and Chithra amongst others.
ARY digital networks will be the official channel to cover the event. The channel will air it on 30 April and 1 May 2004.
