DHAKA (Bangladesh): The cable network service across Bangladesh remained suspended from 12 noon to 6:00 pm today to protest the killing of a cable operator.
A decision to this effect was taken at an emergency meeting of the Cable Operators Association of Bangladesh (COAB) on Thursday, according to a press release issued by the body.
The meeting took the decision to protest the murder of a leading cable operator - Mohsin Reza Chowdhury - by unidentified miscreants, reports say. The COAB leaders asked all cable operators in the country to make the programme a success to press the authorities for immediate arrest and trial of the killers, the release added.
