ABC to bring back 'Millionaire' in revamped format

MUMBAI: Even as it grapples with major corporate restructuring, Disney broadcast network ABC has announced the relaunch of its popular show Millionaire .

To be rechristened as Super Millionaire, the five episode special, offering a top prize of $ 10 million, will go on air next month.

Super Millionaire will follow the same format as the earlier Millionaire, but the prize money has jumped tenfold. The show will have Americans attempting to navigate 15 multiple-choice questions for the cash.

The broadcaster says the show drew 17.5 million viewers on an average when it aired in February.

Super Millionaire is the weapon in ABC's arsenal, with which the network will aim to counter rival Fox's plans for the quarter ahead, which include reality projects ranging from casino to boxing ring.
