MTV bids to 'Rock' the voter

MUMBAI: Elections are around the corner, and election programming seems to be in vogue. MTV's third edition of Rock the Vote is back to beckoning 375 million youth in India to vote and make a difference.

MTV Rock the Vote is meant to encourage the youth to have a say in the way this country is going to be run. The show aims at getting young Indians to go forth and vote. Through its messages, the series will voice the opinions of Indian youth on issues that affect them. Popular Bollywood stars will also spread the message of 'get out and vote', according to a company's release.

MTV Networks India vice president & GM, creative & content Cyrus Oshidar is quoted in a company release as saying, "At MTV, we recognise the power of the youth in playing a vital and decisive role in shaping the future of our country and we want to use Rock the Vote to excite, educate and engage young people to vote and make a change."
