Star Movies continues dominance with eight of top 10 movies

MUMBAI: Star Movies is showing no signs of slowing down. TAM data for six metros from 1 Jan till 26 April reveals that eight of the top ten English movies belonged to it.
Leading the charge this year was the Jackie Chan western comedy Shanghai Noon which premiered last month. It made Star Movies the top performing English language channel and the third most popular channel in Indian cable homes across the crucial Friday night 9-11pm time band.
Continuing the trend from last year were dinosaurs who made mince meat of the competition courtesy Jurassic Park III. The film came in at number three as far as the most watched English films are concerned. The cult classic Terminator 2 also featured in the top ten along with Jurassic Park, Armour Of God and Mars Attacks!
Later on, in the year viewers can expect the likes of Oscar winner A Beautiful Mind, the period horror film From Hell.
