Boxing comes in the form of bad blood on Star Movies

Star Movies

MUMBAI: It is not just Max that is looking to mix movies with sport. Star Movies is taking a break from regular programming to bring a boxing special. On 15 September the channel will showcase Bad Blood -- De La Hoya vs. Vargas at 6:30 am live with a repeat at 4:45 pm.

Vargas' WBA Jr. Middleweight title will be on the line against De La Hoya's WBC Super Welterweight title. The 12 round World Super Welterweight Championship bout features six-time world champion Oscar De La Hoya (34-2, 27 KOs) and current WBA Jr. Middleweight champion Fernando Vargas (22-1, 20 KOs). At just 29 years of age De La Hoya has won six world titles in five different weight classes. De La Hoya was the only US boxer to win a gold medal at the 1992 Olympic Games. In a bout last year Vargas captured the vacant WBA Jr. Middleweight crown, dismantling WBA No. 1 ranked contender Jose "Shibata" Flores in seven rounds (KO 7).

Meanwhile in the US the DISH Network a direct broadcast satellite television entertainment provider is offering the event on DISH On Demand Pay-Per-View. De La Hoya and top-ranked challenger on DISH Network channels 455 and 538 for $49.95.
