MUMBAI: Turner Broadcasting will launch two kids‘ channels -- Cartoon Network TOO and Boomerang+1 in the UK next year in a bid to increase its penetration in the fragmented market.The channel is targeted for children aged 4 to 9 years old. |
Boomerang+1, is aimed at the whole family and includes classics such as Scooby-Doo and Tom & Jerry. Whereas, the Cartoon Network Too will showcase Yogi Bear, Wacky Races and Hong Kong Phooey from the Hanna Barbera Library, besides popular Cartoon Network‘s shows lik Dexter‘s Laboratory and The Powerpuff Girls. Turner Broadcasting System UK and Ireland senior VP and general manager Dee Forbes says: "With the largest cartoon library in the world as its basis and having invested an average of $100 million a year on new shows internationally, Cartoon Network has now reached a point in its development where it has a treasure trove of back catalogue content crying out for a channel of its own."
