MUMBAI: Toon Cricket is back and this time it's Australia's Mark Waugh and his toons who will battle it out on the field with Mumbai kid Deven Bhatia with his set of toons.
Cartoon Network’s signature marketing event that has been specially conceptualised for Indian kids, The Tri-Toon Triangular Try Anything Tournament is a limited overs match played by Cartoon Network characters, giving the game of cricket a toony twist.
The Tri-Toon Triangular Try Anything Tournament will be held on 4 December at the Andheri Sports Complex in Mumbai, where the winner of the “Apna Yaar” contest Deven Bhatia's team 'Super Smashers' will play against Mark’s Maniacs. Bhatia won the toss and elected to field in the upcoming match on 4 December.

On the other hand, 'Wasim’s Wascals' will play against the second winner of the “Apna Yaar” contest winner, Prachet Sharma's ‘Super Smashers.’ These teams will play two matches in New Delhi at Major Dhyandchand National Stadium on 11 December, 2005.
Both the winners will receive Cartoon Network goodies, which will include an exclusive cricketing gear, personally autographed by the Toons, Wasim Akram and Mark Waugh amongst other things.
The passes for the tournament have been distributed across 200 schools in select cities through a school contact programme. The passes have also been sent to the participants of the “Apna Yaar” contest and the Toon Cricket on-line gaming championship on the channel's website.
This year’s sponsors for Toon Cricket 2005 - The Tri-Toon Triangular Try Anything Tournament include Maggi Noodles and Boost as presenting sponsors and Cheetos, Cadbury’s Chocolates, Funskool Toys, Britannia, Dabur Hajmola Candy and Gini and Jony as the associate sponsors.
An integrated on- air, on-line, on-ground, three month promotional campaign featuring Waugh and Akram preceded the fun-filled extravaganza. Moreover, Toon Cricket 2005 representatives visited over 100,000 kids through a 200-school-wide contact program in select cities with exciting pre-event activities.
Toon Cricket was first held in 1999 and thereafter in 2001, 2002 and 2003.
