MUMBAI: Leaders in the kids’ genre, Cartoon Network and Pogo have once again delivered in the holiday season.
The latest Tam ratings (4-14 CS, All India, 8 - 21 May, All days, 24 hours) have revealed that Cartoon Network and Pogo, together, command 82 per cent of kids’ channel shares.
As part of the summer programming line up, Pogo aired Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets on 22 May at 2 pm, which notched TVRs of 2.0 in 4-14 C&S and TVRs of 4.0 in SEC AB kids – all India.
In addition, Harry Potter & The Sorcerer’s Stone, which was aired on Pogo last year, once again posted good ratings with its Cartoon Network premiere on 15 May. This movie received a 3.0 TVR for All India, All SECs and a 3.9 TVR for All India SEC AB.

In addition, the slew of new summer programming launched by Cartoon Network and POGO has received a stupendous response from viewers across India. On Cartoon Network, The Legend of Prince Ram, rated 2.0 TVR while the new show, Beyblade rated, on an average, an above 1 TVR (5.30 pm) while Cartoon Network’s Sunday morning line up (9 am – 12 noon) posted an average above 1 TVR as well!
Since its launch on Pogo, the rib–tickling game show Takeshi’s Castle has consistently delivered an average of above 1 TVR to become one of the highest rated shows on the channel. The show is hosted by Javed Jaffrey and on an average, rates higher than any other show on a kids’ channel, excluding Cartoon Network.
The locally produced series MAD has shown week-on-week growth since its launch on 24 April with the latest high of 0.9 TVR among All SEC and 1.9 TVR among SEC AB on 15 May (Tam India, 4-14, SEC AB C&S). SMS and online contests held during the MAD shows have received more than 70,000 entries across Cartoon Network and Pogo.
