BBC competition allows kids to meet author JK Rowling

MUMBAI: To celebrate the publication of the final book of the Harry Potter franchise Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows, BBC‘s brand Blue Peter has launched a special competition. This will give an opportunity to 25 British children to win a trip to see the Blue Peter Studios and guest, author JK Rowling.

Blue Peter is a long-running BBC television programme for children. It is named after the blue-and-white flag hoisted by ships in port when they are ready to sail.

To enter the competition, children need to write down a question they would like to ask JK Rowling. On the opposite side of their A4 piece of paper, they then need to draw a portrait of themselves, as a witch or a wizard. The closing date is 15 June 2007.

Blue Peter editor Richard Marson says, "We have always been great supporters of JK Rowling, so we are delighted she has decided to appear on our Blue Peter special, which will be shown on 20 July."
