UTV's 'Kehta hai dil', 'Meher' top the charts

MUMBAI: While the soon-to-be-launched Hungama TV is enjoying the limelight now, it doesn't mean that the production arm UTV is lying low.

In an official communique, the production house tom-toms that its two show Kehta hai dil and Meher are currently topping the charts.

While Star Plus' weekly KHD has been reigning amongst the prime time 9 PM shows for eight weeks, Meher is doing the same on Doordarshan.

Kehta Hai Dil, a one weekly that debut on the small screen on July '2003, is telecast on Star Plus every Tuesday. A strong character based show aims at addressing several important social issues.

KHD started off as Picket Fences, but took the usual route of a saas-bahu aka soap drama later on. Yet despite the changes in faces and addition of new characters to the story line, the show has been doing well. Last week, the serial enjoyed 7.1 TRP in across all India cable and satellite homes.

While Meher is a thriller, with a Muslim family backdrop and is about lives of twin sisters. It is telecast on Doordarshan every Monday to Thursday at 8.30 PM

"At UTV we have been in the forefront to bring the television revolution in India with programmes such as Mashoor Mahal on DD, Shanti, Parivartan etc. Now, we are set to redefine leadership through path-breaking creative efforts in TV production, So watch out for some really great stuff on your TV," says UTV Software communications Ltd COO Vikas Varma.
