This Friday at 9 pm, Star Movies, brings the television premiere of the science fiction thriller Supernova, directed by Thomas Lee.
The movie stars Oscar nominated and Golden Globe Award winner Angela Bassett as a medical officer along with James Spader, the winner of best actor award for the film Sex, Lies and Videotapes at the Cannes Film Festival.
The other actors in the film include, Robert Forster who was nominated for the Oscars for his performance in Quentin Tarantino's Jackie Brown and Peter Facinelli, says a press release.
The movie chronicles the lives of a six-man crew and their search and rescue mission in deep space in the early 22nd Century. It revolves around the adventures of a deep space hospital ship named Nightingale 229 and its six-member crew, which includes the captain and pilot A. J. Marley (Robert Forster), a co-pilot Star Gate (James Spader) and a medical officer Kaela Evers (Angela Bassett).
The crew finds itself in danger, when Nightingale answers an emergency distress signal from a distant galaxy and rescues a mysterious young man (Peter Facinelli). The man, who is welcomed aboard, turns out to be an alien and kills members of the crew.
