MUMBAI: Six continents, 115 beauties, over two billion viewers worldwide. This year's edition of Miss World will have a record number of contestants representing more countries than any other pageant.
Star World will air the event on 10 December 2005 at 6.30 pm.
On 9 December at 11 pm viewers can watch the 6 special half-hour Vote For Me shows back-to-back and get up close and personal with each and every beauty. Also, they will get a final chance to vote their favourite contestant into the 15 continental finalists.
On 10 December 2005, voting results from all over the world will be tallied, and the top 2 vote-winners from each continent will automatically gain entry into the Continental Finals. They will be joined by three Fast Track winners - Beach Beauty, Talent and Beauty With A Purpose. From the 15 Continental Finalists, a panel of judges will choose the final six. After which Miss World Organisation Chairman Julia Morley, will announce the next Miss World 2005, a title that will bring glamour, glory and hard work in the name of "Beauty With A Purpose"
Those are not the only reasons to tune in to this year's biggest beauty event. Aside from admiring the beauty queens in their beachwear, nightgowns and interviews, viewers will also be able to follow the contestants as they traipse through some of China's most breathtaking and historical sights and tour the beautiful resort spot of Sanya on China's famed Hainan Island.
Kicking off amidst the majestic mountains and waterfalls of the 4,000 year-old city, Wenzhou, the 115 beauty ambassadors will cruise through the mighty Yangtze, explore the ancient splendour of Beijing, groove to the metropolitan vibe of Shanghai and much much more! Be prepared for a visually spectacular travelogue, helmed by the lovely representatives in a month-long exploration of China.
