Star soaps to star on new channel in Dubai

MUMBAI: Channel 7 to 9, a Hindi entertainment, terrestrial free to air channel, recently commenced airing Star Plus soaps Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii on Ajman TV in Dubai. The launch of the new programming comes on the heels of an agreement with Star Plus, offering viewers popular serials and movies with Arabic subtitles, says an official release from the newly launched channel.
For the launch, a team of the television stars visited Dubai Media City, the headquarters of the channel, which will also be available on Nilesat and E-vision, catering to 60 to 70 per cent of the Indian population in the Gulf and Middle East. The programming line up on 7 to 9 will also include other Star Plus serials Tu Tu Mein Mein, Des Mein Niklla Hoga Chand and Khichdi, the release says.
According to Channel 7 to 9 chairman Ajay Sethi, "Our programming has been developed to open up exciting creative opportunities for viewers while making great business sense to advertisers and we are delighted to be working with our sponsors, Western Union and Al Rawabi ,to make this happen on a terrestrial channel which is a first for the UAE."
Channel 7 to 9 is based in Dubai Media City free zone, with leading Indian businessman, Ajay Sethi as its key motivator. The first Asian language broadcasting channel in the region, the channel is free- to- air, on both terrestrial as well as on satellite television.
