MUMBAI: Fans of serial killer films are in for a treat. On 1 July at 9:45 pm Hallmark will air the film Killer Instinct with Jean Smart. Based on a true story the film deals with an FBI agent Candice DeLong who has been likened to a real-life Clarice Starling. DeLong has tailed terrorists, profiled serial killers, and pursued kidnappers and rapists.
The film deals with one of the most challenging—and terrifying—cases of her career which was also the most personal. Divorced from her unreliable husband and struggling to maintain the role of “perfect mother” to her nine-year-old son DeLong has devoted her heart and soul to the crusade against crime as one of the FBI’s most proficient criminal profilers despite sexism within the bureau.
Reeling from the guilt of losing a young victim to a predator, and threatening to retire, DeLong is soon lured back into the business when a middle-aged mother is raped, strangled, and left for dead. The killer has left a behind bizarre calling card: a baby rattle forced down the victim's throat. She’s only one in a bizarre series of rape slayings.
