MUMBAI: Page Kennedy, who plays a fugitive from the law on the show Desperate Housewives, has been fired for improper conduct.

He was dropped after the studio that makes the show conducted an investigation into allegations against him. In the US the show helped revive the fortunes of ABC. In India, it airs on Star World. Media reports indicate that the actor behaved improperly towards a crew member.

He played Caleb, the fugitive from justice. The role is being recast. Kennedy will appear one more time on the next episode, when Caleb finally escapes from the house where he has been held in captivity by newly arrived Wisteria Lane neighbor Betty Applewhite, played by Woodard, and her son.

What would have made it easier for ABC to take this step is the fact that Caleb's face has never been clearly seen and he has not said anything on the show. Meanwhile, pop star Elton John is believed to be keen on appearing on the show as it is one of his favourites.
