Police raids cable ops in Maharashtra, Gujarat over Taj Television’s complaint

MUMBAI: Taj Television India, which runs Ten Sports, Ten Cricket and Ten Action+, said Tuesday that police have raided premises of cable operators in three places each in Maharashtra and Gujarat on complaints filed by it.

The company alleged that the cable operators were illegally transmitting the Ten channels on their respective networks.
  
Taj Television said that in Maharashtra, offices of Shirur Cable/Attar (Shirur), Shrinivas Cable Network (Rahata) and Jai Narsimha Cable Network in Parbani were raided while in Gujarat, Sunny Cable Network (Bhavnagar), Arjun Cable (Dhola) and Galaxy Cable (Dhoraji) were raided. 
 
In all, the police arrested nine officials, said Taj Television.
Taj Television said that the police conducted a raid and recorded the ongoing commission of illegal transmission of its channels. The channels were deactivated and criminal action was initiated. The police registered FIRs against all the cable operators.
