Neo Cricket in deal with US cable major Comcast

MUMABI: Neo Broadcast America, a group company of Nimbus Communications, has entered into an agreement with US cable company Comcast to launch Neo Cricket.

The channel will offer Comcast customers, in several major metropolitan markets across the US, live coverage of all international and domestic cricket matches played in India as well as other events like the Asia Cup and original productions. 
 
Comcast VP of content acquisition David Jensen said, "Comcast is the first cable provider to bring a 24-7 cricket offering to US cricket fans. Comcast is committed to working with diverse and independent program providers, like Neo Cricket, to deliver multicultural offerings that reflect the wide-ranging interests of our customers.”

Neo Broadcast America director Prasana Krishnan says, "Neo Cricket is the world’s first cricket-only channel and through its dedication to cricket and high quality programming has redefined what it means to be a cricket television channel. We are bringing NEO Cricket to cricket fans around the world and this agreement marks the first step in our efforts to reach the U.S. market".
 
The next property for Neo Cricket will be the India versus New Zealand series.

Neo Cricket airs shows like Dial C for Cricket, which is a cricket daily interactive call-in show; the sports update show Sportzone, and Baat and Bowl.

Neo Cricket is also available in the Middle East, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Fiji, Philippines and is focussed on delivering content to many parts of the Indian subcontinent.
