Google keen to acquire Hulu

MUMBAI: Google is one among the other companies like Microsoft and Yahoo who have made offers to buy out online gaming service provider, Hulu. It was only last week that Yahoo had produced an unsolicited offer.

Hulu executives have set up meetings with their financial advisers, Morgan Stanley and Guggenheim Partners, and all interested parties on a one-on-one basis.

If Google can manage to pull off the acquisition, it would mean that they are one step closer to dominate the online video streaming sector that it is already into action with its YouTube platform.

The Google acquisition and its know-how in the video streaming business could also mean a better platform in the future, run by a company that understands the space.

With Hulu projected to source a revenue of $500 million, both through advertising and Hulu Premium subscriptions, offers are expected to be in billions, with Bloomberg also putting its offer somewhere in the vicinity of $2 billion.

Hulu has a user base of 28 million users per month.
