Apple mulling acquisition of Hulu

MUMBAI: Apple is hobnobbing with the idea of buying out online video service Hulu.

Hulu‘s owners, including the Walt Disney Co, News Corp and Comcast, have been looking to sell the site since last month.

Apple is in early talks that may lead to an offer. It is also said that the asking price of Hulu could exceed $2 billion and could easily be Apple‘s biggest purchase ever of a company.

Yahoo, Google and AT&T were interested in acquiring Hulu.

Hulu owns the rights of popular TV shows and allows users to stream video content over the Web. The company that rivals Netflix and Google-owned YouTube as well as Apple‘s iTunes store is available through Apple‘s iPad and iPhone, Android phones and video game systems.
