Apple in a deal with Beatles

MUMBAI: Apple to put Beatles music on iTunes Ending a long-running dispute between the Beatles and the technology powerhouse Apple, the latter has agreed to get into a deal that would bring the Beatles to its iTunes online music store.

The deal comes after weeks of talks between representatives of the band, its record label, EMI, and Apple executives.

Asking people to expect an exciting development on Monday, Apple said in a cryptic message, “Tomorrow is just another day that you’ll never forget. Check back here tomorrow for an exciting announcement from iTunes.”

The Beatles and Apple have been into lawsuits since 1978 when the Beatles alleged that the computer company had infringed on its Apple Records trademark.
