MUMBAI: FICCI Frames, the biggest convention in Asia on the business of entertainment, will bestow its Living Legend Award on veteran screen actors Shammi Kapoor and Waheeda Rehman, in honour of their contributions to the Indian film industry.
"The award is in recognition of the services of these actors to the film industry, who acted in some of the best motion pictures of the industry," film-maker and FICCI entertainment committee Chairman Yash Chopra has been quoted as saying.
Those who have received the The Living Legend Award include Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini, Dev Anand, Asha Parekh, Dilip Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar.
The award would be presented at the FICCI-BAF awards ceremony on 4 April at the entertainment night function, which is hosted as part of the FICCI-Frames 2005. This year the theme of the convention is 'Entertainment It's Happening.'
Frames will be held in Mumbai from 4 - 6 April and will have participation from various entertainment conglomerates, IT majors and others players.
Among the key issues on the Frames agenda this year are animation; gaming; mobile entertainment;
new media: emerging opportunities; broadband and convergence; digital cinema; television; print media and of course films.
