History (USA) emerges as the NO. 1 media brand in the US

Mumbai: HISTORY (US) is one of the top brands of 2012 in the US, according to the research conducted by BrandIndex.

BrandIndex is the authoritative measure of brand perception in US which continuously measures public perception of thousands of brands across dozens of sectors. (Methodology appended below)

According to the 2012 Annual US Top Buzz Rankings, HISTORY Channel (US) ranked 5th and emerged as the No. 1 brand on TV in USA. HISTORY Channel is a Top 10 regular and with Discovery Channel dropping to number 14, the only network in the short list in 2012. The other brands that have featured in the top 10 list are Subway, Amazon, Ford, YouTube and Google amongst others.

US-based A+E Networks, which runs HISTORY channel, entered India in October 2011 as HISTORY TV18, with a joint venture with TV18. HISTORY TV18 got highly recognized as a channel for its edgy and distinguished programming, a perfect m?lange of fact based entertainment, thrill and action based shows that appeal to a much wider audience.

*Methodology: The brands were rated by using YouGov BrandIndex?s Buzz score which asks respondents, if they have heard anything about the brand in the last two weeks, through advertising, news or word of mouth, etc.
