Chicago Intl film fest to screen Prashant Bhargava's Pataang

MUMBAI: The 47th Chicago International Film Festival has selected the first 25 titles that would be screened at this year‘s event. Among them is the Prashant Bhargava-directed Pataang (The Kite).

The festival, one of the oldest in North America, will totally screen 150 films from 6 to 20 October.

The Bhargava debut feature is about a successful Delhi businessman who returns to his familial home, urban-bred daughter in tow, for a surprise visit during India‘s largest kite festival. The excitement of their homecoming soon fades as long-held resentments and distrust surface," reads the official website of the festival.

Incidentally, Patang was screened at the Forum of Berlin International Film Festival early this year and then at Tribeca Film Festival 2011.
