ESPN to open 2nd digital centre in Southington

MUMBAI: ESPN is planning to build a second digital center in Southington that will house four studios, six production control rooms and a number of editing rooms.

The sports network is getting a 10-year $17.5 million loan from the state Department of Economic and Community Development for the construction and the creation of jobs.

ESPN will also get up to $1.2 million to fund a job-training grant programme, and the Connecticut Development Authority may also lend up to $6 million in tax exemptions on capital equipment and construction materials.

Executive vice president for Administration Ed Durso said that the expansion will create more than 200 jobs.
