DFF’s Odia Film Festival kicks off on 15 April

MUMBAI:The Information and Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni will inaugurate Odia Film Festival 2011, organised jointly by the Directorate of Film Festivals (DFF) and Institute for Promotion and Research on Odisha Culture and Heritage, to celebrate the platinum jubilee of Odia Cinema on 15 April.

Nirad Mahapatra-directed Maya Mriga will be the opening film of the festival.

Films that would be shown in the two-day festival beginning from 16 April are: Jatra Jeevan Jeevan Yatra, Klanta Aparahna, Retrospective of Animation Films by Late Pramod Pati, Dhare Alua, Sakhi Pila, Oddissi Dance (Documentary) and Indradhanura Chhai.

On the concluding day on 17 April films like Milamadhaba (Documentary), Dhauli Express, Jianta Bhuta, Struggle for Identity (Documentary) and Konark (Documentary) would be screened.

Adi Mimansa directed by A K Bir will be the closing film of the festival.
